Artist's Description
Maid of Moraira was a Hallberg-Rassy and owned by my friend Maurice Pilkington.
Maurice and I regularly sailed together and on this accasion we were sailing back from the Balearic Islands back to Moraira overnight. we would take 3 hour shifts while the other slept, I was sailing and saw the sun sink into the cloud and become a big Spanish orange, I kept this immage in my mind and when I got back to my studio in Javea started painting before I lost what I had in my mind. This is the painting and you can share it. I gave Maurice the original for his birthday and he was over the moon, It has pride of place in his villa in Spain.
