Artist's Description
Painted in 1980, this was another painting I forgot to record and was sent to me by the lovely Lesley, who at one time lived in the Gun Pub shown in the painting with her mum, dad, and brother. In the foreground is PLA Tug 'PLACARD'.
In the background from left is the entrance to West India Dock (now the new financial hub of Canary wharf), The Gun Public house with links to Nelson, and The old River police station Blackwall, where I worked and in my spare time painted many scenes like this. The police station now sold and turned into luxury apartments. With all the changes nearly all my River and Docklands scenes are now historic records of how it used to be 50 plus years ago. Enjoy, Mac.
