Suncrest a tug on the River Thames London metal print by Mackenzie Moulton. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Artist's Description
I wish I recorded all the paintings I did of tugs on the river Thames, they are out there somewhere, Sun Tugs, Thames and General, Browns, Corys, and many more, maybe one day they will turn up at auction. This is a Sun Tug called Suncrest.
Built in 1961 she has had a number of owners before being laid up during the early 2000's. She was once a pretty powerful tug with a bollard pull of 18 tonnes but after a brief outing in 2004 a repaint and a few attempts to sell her she is still laid up.and at present belongs to General Marine, London
About Mackenzie Moulton
MACKENZIE MOULTON ARTIST Mackenzie Moulton, born 21st June 1947 in Exeter, Devon, England. The first son of an English father and Scottish Mother and an Irish Grandfather. A result of which he has a deep Celtic origin. His talent recognised at an early age and a year before leaving school at 15, was invited to attend Exeter Art College at weekends to study Sculpture. Over the past 65 years he has concentrated on painting as opposed to sculpture and has Exhibited in London, Kent, Devon, Newcastle, Durham and Scotland in the UK and New York, El Paso, Dallas and Connecticut in the USA. and in Spain.
