A COMMISSION FROM DOCTOR MAARTEN VASBINDER, MY DOCTOR IN SPAIN RESULTED IN ME PAINTING THE FLYING DUTCHMAN MANY TIMES, EXPERIMENTING WITH HIS IDEAS OF WHAT IT MAY HAVE LOOKED LIKE TO SAILORS STRICKEN WITH FEAR OF DEATH IN A STORM, THE ORIGINAL CANVAS IS 4 FEET BY 3 FEET.PAINTED IN OILS AND AS FAR AS I KNOW STILL IN SPAIN.
