Description
Wapping Lane, Wapping at a time when the docks were fully operational and the swing bridge in Wapping lane would open for large cargo ships, a favourite excuse for being late for work was, 'the bridge was up', On the right is the convent (is it still there? on the left is a shop, no longer there and I think the bridge is now fixed. A little bit of Wapping history and a talking piece for your home, especially if its in Wapping London. I painted this on a 16 by 20 inch canvas now you can enjoy it in print canvas print or cards.

My Great aunt & Uncle lived in Raines Mansions the Building on the Right hand side of the picture Next to St. Peter & Pauls church. on the opposite side of the road was a sweet shop Named Bertie Tars , spent most of my childhood there and have fond memories.
