Title
Thames Police Floating Police Station At Waterloo Bridge, London
Artist
Mackenzie Moulton
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
I painted many pictures for fellow friend I worked with on the Thames Police Force, and this was one for sergeant David Knoall. I never recorded it until now, when I got in contact with him. It was painted in 1983, oil on a 20 by 16 inch canvas. The green launch was Knick named, The Green Parrot, but officially the Commissioners launch, used by senior officers visiting Thames Police Stations. The other two are a single screw old style police boat, replaced by the one behind that was a twin screw, 30 knot police boat. This would see the demise of many Thames police stations, and Waterloo Pier seen here was eventually taken over by the RLNI
